Compressed Coco Coir Block

Just add water — and watch it get fluffy.

This is our favorite part. Drop a compressed block into a bucket, add warm water, and break it apart with your hands as it expands into a light, airy, incredibly satisfying growing medium. Make sure to wear a mask! One amended block (mixed with perlite) can fill 2–3 ten-gallon grow bags — or roughly 5 five-gallon equivalents. That’s a lot of growing power in one small brick.

🪣 How to Hydrate Your Block (Our Favorite Part)

• Place the block in a large bucket or tub — a 5-gallon bucket works perfectly
• Add 4–6 cups of warm water slowly and let the block begin to absorb
• Break it apart with your hands or a trowel as it loosens and expands — enjoy the process!
• Add more water as needed until fully fluffy and evenly moist
• Mix in perlite for drainage, worm castings for nutrition, or use as-is for a clean base
• One block amended with perlite fills 2–3 ten-gallon grow bags — or about 5 five-gallon equivalents
